Our mission

Women of Worth is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering women through education and support. Our core mission is to unlock success for every woman by providing essential resources, opportunities, and guidance tailored specifically for women in various stages of their personal and professional lives.

Women of Worth was founded by individuals driven by personal experiences within the penal system. Their firsthand knowledge of the gaps in resources and information available to women has shaped the organization's mission to provide impactful support and guidance.

We are passionate about making a substantive difference in the lives of women who face unique challenges, particularly in the context of the criminal justice system, and our founders are deeply committed to creating pathways for success and reintegration.

Recent data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and the Prison Policy Initiative shows that nearly 190,000 women and girls are currently behind bars across the United States. While women account for only about 10 percent of the total prison population, their rate of incarceration has surged more than 600 percent since the 1980s.
